Edmond and Leo join HANCI Board of Directors

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., Jan. 13, 2009 – Karen E. Edmond and Anthony W. Leo have been elected to three-year terms on the Board of Directors of the Health Association of Niagara County, Inc.

A licensed master social worker, Edmond is field practicum coordinator in the Social Work Department at Niagara University. She also teaches courses in diversity and social justice for the department. Edmond has worked in the social work field locally for more than 10 years. A resident of Buffalo, Edmond holds a master’s degree in social work from the University at Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Buffalo State College.

Leo is a senior financial consultant with First Niagara Securities. A resident of Newfane, he is a Board member and past president of the Newfane Lions Club and previously served as president of the Board of Directors of the Center for Joy, a nonprofit agency that HANCI acquired in May 2009. He earned a bachelor’s degree in applied economics from Buffalo State College.

Founded in 1927, HANCI is a nonprofit, charitable organization that promotes health and wellness across generations through health programs, services for older adults, and programs for children and families. HANCI is based in Niagara Falls, with satellite offices in North Tonawanda and Lockport.
