HANCI offers free booklet on how home care works
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., March 28, 2011 – Home care helps hundreds of thousands of older adults and disabled individuals across New York State to live with dignity. Thousands more don’t get the help they need because they aren’t familiar with home care. That’s why the Health Association of Niagara County Inc. is offering a free booklet called “Getting Started with Home Care.” The booklet explains how home care works, how it’s paid for, and how to find services. A free electronic version is available at www.hanci.com. To request a free printed copy, call HANCI at 716-285-8224, ext. 211, or send your name and mailing address to postmaster@hanci.com. Home care helps homebound individuals and their caregivers, as well as those going through periods of illness or recovery. Services include light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, help with bathing, grocery shopping and other essential tasks. Home care costs much less than nursing homes. “There are choices in healthcare,” said John Kinner, HANCI executive director. “We’re trying to give caregivers the power to make good choices for themselves and their loved ones.” # # # |
