HANCI PR staff wins coveted “Best of Show”
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., June 20, 2011 — The Health Association of Niagara County Inc. claimed eight Excalibur Awards from the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, including one of two platinum “best of show” awards. Jeff Paterson, director of communication and advancement, and Kate LaBrake, former public relations manager, accepted the awards on HANCI’s behalf at a June 16 dinner in Depew.
The platinum award, HANCI’s first, was given for the agency’s “Niagara in the Know” newsletter for older adults. HANCI also earned gold awards in the community relations and newsletter categories. The agency won silver awards in the public service and special-purpose publications categories, and three bronze awards for special events and observances, public service, and external video programs.
The Excalibur Awards recognize excellence in public relations programs and projects. 2010 marks the eleventh consecutive year that HANCI has earned Excalibur recognition. The agency has won 49 Excalibur Awards since 2001.
A panel of public relations professionals from Portland, Ore., judged this year’s entries. In all, 44 awards were presented.
